Lo Sguardo Assente by Lorenzo Pesce in Taranto
Sunday, 31 May 2009
On May 31st, In Taranto, the "Lo Sguardo Assento" exhibition will open at the Provincia di Taranto, Via Anfiteatro 4. The exhbition, that will close on June the 14th 2009, is about 40 images shot by Lorenzo Pesce out of his vast production.
This is Lorenzo Pesce, a photographer that walks silently into people’s lives. He does not capture moments, he tends to construct them. Lorenzo creates apparently spontaneous moments, this way his magical photographs are born. Pictures that depict a generation the way it is:with a seemingly absent look, “lo Sguardo Assente".

OltreNero by Alessandro Cosmelli and Marco Mathieu
Saturday, 30 May 2009
It’s hard even to define them, as they’re prompt to defy labels. They are the far right youth, a varied galaxy, although extremely reduced. Many of them don't accept the classical definition “Left/Right”: they reckon they are “beyond” or, as they say, simply “fascists”.
In order to portray them you should drop any kind of judgement or prejudice and just accept to set aside the “politically correct” category, because behind often undefendable opinions, you happen to get to know very good and warm people, who wrongfoot those who believe they are going to interact with few fanatical and violent racists.
Alessandro Cosmelli and Marco Mathieu have realized a long survey on this new Italian reality. The results have been published on the book "OltreNero - Nuovi.Fascisti.Italiani" (Contrasto editions).
