Broken Middle East by Venturi on Internazionale

A 3,500 kilometres journey, from Istanbul to Cairo. They went through Turkey, Kurdistan, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, the Palestinian territories, Jordan and Egypt, in the so-called Fertile Crescent (a crescent-shaped region in the Near East), where Europe, Asia and Africa meet and melt. Alfredo Falvo and Angelo Turetta win the Cliciak

In Cesena they held the 2008 edition of the Cliciak, the national competition for set photographers. Alfredo Falvo has won the award for the best black and white photographic series with the pictures of the movie "Il passato è una terra straniera", directed by Daniele Vicari.
Moreover Angelo Turetta has won his tenth CliCiak with a black and white shot on the set of the "Sanguepazzo" movie, directed by Marco Tullio Giordana.

Violenza sulle donne di Simona Ghizzoni su Vanity Fair

In Italia sono quasi 7 milioni le donne che hanno subito uno (o più insieme) dei tre tipi di violenza, psicologica, sessuale e fisica, nel corso della loro vita. Il vero problema è che le vittime restano quasi sempre in silenzio: il 96% delle violenze subite da un uomo diverso dal partner e il 93% di quelle subite dal proprio compagno, infatti, non sono denunciate. Il reportage di Simona Ghizzoni, realizzato in un centro di accoglienza per donne vittime di violenza domestica, è stato pubblicato da Vanity Fair.

POY is one of the oldest, largest and most highly respected photojournalism contests in the world. We wish to congratulate our photographers Simona Ghizzoni and Fabio Cuttica. Ghizzoni has won the second place in the Magazine Feature Picture Story category with his work named "Fantasmi" (ghosts), about Cambodia, while Fabio Cuttica has won the Award of Excellence in the "Magazine Issue Reporting Picture Story" category with his work about the long march of the Nasa.

Born in 1981, Hugo Enynnaya is a Nigerian footballer who started his career at 16 in the Nigerian division. Enynnaya played in Bari (together with Cassano), then in Livorno and in Foggia. Workshop Contrasto - Reportage fotografico: dal progetto alla realizzazione

Contrasto propone un workshop in due momenti indirizzato ai fotografi che non solo vogliono lavorare sul reportage ma anche comprendere come poter costruire un progetto fotografico e quali siano le tappe e gli strumenti per accompagnarlo nella sua realizzazione. Dalla definizione di un progetto allo scatto, all’editing finale, alla sua possibile presentazione sul mercato dell’editoria, fino all’organizzazione in mostra e in libro.

Accanto alla guida di fotografi-masters Francesco Cocco e Davide Monteleone, l’intero staff dell’agenzia Contrasto e della casa editrice Contrasto due seguirà le diverse fasi del lavoro durante i giorni di workshop.

I momenti di lavoro e di verifica con i fotografi si alterneranno così a visite all’agenzia e incontri con lo staff di Contrasto per comprendere quali siano le fasi e i meccanismi propri del mondo della fotografia.
