Desplazados by Fabio Cuttica on Io Donna
Saturday, 21 February 2009
There are more than 3 millions stories of sorrow and exodus. Unfortunately we can’t hear them. Their stories are about grief, death and poverty, in a country on war as Columbia is. The so called "desplazados", the Columbian refugees, are silent victims of violence. Victims forced to flee from their houses, from their lands, looking for a better life far from that hell. Fabio Cuttica's reportage has been published on Io Donna.

South Ossetia by Davide Monteleone on Muze
Thursday, 19 February 2009
August the 8th 2008: Georgia attacks and invades South Ossetia. The justification for such a behaviour is that Georgia strongly wants to restore the order in the separatist republic. Russia’s reaction doesn’t delay and in few days it consolidates its military post in Tskhinvali, while the Russian army breaks through the Georgian territory, all the way to the city of Gori. This is the beginning of new tensions in the Caucasus area.
This reportage, shot by Davide Monteleone and published by Muze, narrates the situation in South Ossetia after the Russian-Georgian conflict.

Sexual violence in Congo by Alfredo Falvo on Io Donna
Sunday, 08 February 2009
In Congo, sexual violence is generally perpetrated by armed groups: superstition and fanatism are one of the main reasons of such behaviour. But most of all, sexual violence is used as weapon of war, causing the propagation of many sexually transmitted diseases. During the last months 4,500 cases of sexual violence have been officially denuonced, but they could be twice as much, because rarely women report rapes to UN forces. The reportage shot by Alfredo Falvo has been published by Io Donna.

8 Mile Road by Theo Volpatti on Le Monde 2
Friday, 06 February 2009
Theo Volpatti has visited and photographed two worlds neighbouring and opposing each other on the threshold of 8 Mile road, in Detroit, with the two districts summarizing the situation through U.S. architectures close but antithetical; the poor and the wealthy, all aspects in a globalised world that fails to be emancipated from racial differences. For the population of Detroit, 8 Mile road is the border of the city, a sort of line without customs or block posts: beyond that road there is the outskirts of marginalized people of color, as well as all the caucasians who didn’t make it.
The images shot by Theo Volpatti have been published on Le Monde Hors Serie.
